A Bellefontaine woman was arrested early Saturday morning after a traffic stop.

According to a report from the Bellefontaine Police Department, officers were on patrol around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of North Main Street and Sandusky Avenue when a silver Honda CR-V drew attention due to erratic driving.

Officers reported the vehicle made a wide turn onto Sandusky Avenue, crossing over a lane divider, followed by jerking movements to correct its position.

The vehicle was later seen going more than the posted speed limit and turning in front of a westbound tractor-trailer, then rapidly accelerating on North Park Street.

The vehicle eventually turned into an alley in the 300 block of North Park Street, where it was stopped by law enforcement.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Tori Levan, showed several signs of impairment, although she repeatedly denied consuming alcohol.

Levan declined to submit to field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest for OVI.

While retrieving her phone from the vehicle, officers found several open containers of alcoholic beverages.

Levan was transported to the police department, where she declined to submit to a breath test.

As a result, her driver’s license was immediately suspended for one year.

She was later released to a sober ride, issued a citation for OVI, and given a mandatory court date.
