Students from Benjamin Logan High School turned in a strong performance at the 2026 Area IV Envirothon, earning a second-place overall finish and advancing to the state competition.
The event was held Tuesday, April 28, at the Preble County Historical Society, where teams from across Southwest Ohio competed in a series of environmental science challenges.
Benjamin Logan fielded two teams under the guidance of Mr. Reames.
Students representing the school included Trinity Helton, Junah Tingley, Winnie Bodin, Marlee Butcher, Annika Chappell, Ashlyn Kelsey, Alivia James, Elizabeth James, Dane Reffner, and Michael Dickey.
The senior team, identified as Team #1, led the way with a runner-up finish in the overall standings.
The group also earned top honors in the aquatics category, posting the highest score among all competing teams.
The Envirothon is a hands-on academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife, and current environmental issues.
By placing among the top four teams, Benjamin Logan secured a spot in the Ohio Envirothon State Competition, where they will compete against top-performing schools from across the state.
