The Benjamin Logan School Board met in regular session Monday night and considered several personnel issues recommended by District Superintendent John Scheu.

Before considering those matters, the Board recognized the April and May Seniors of the Month. For April: Avery Carmer and Ashton Whitt; for May: Natalie Chapman and Cayden Brown.

The Board also approved a re-employment contract for District Treasurer Leah Baker and an additional 10 days for incoming Superintendent Sean Flynn.

Superintendent Scheu also informed the Board that District Director of Administrative Services, Sally Stolly, will retire effective June 20, 2026. He also said that there will be a public meeting regarding Stolly’s potential rehire. The meeting will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 5:45 p.m.

The Board also approved a resolution adopting the NIST Cybersecurity Framework Version 2.0 as the official District Cybersecurity Program. The resolution states that Ohio House Bill 96 requires political subdivisions, including Benjamin Logan Local School District, to establish and maintain a cybersecurity program.

The framework is intended to strengthen protections for sensitive data, improve resilience against cyberattacks and disruptions, and support compliance with Ohio law.

To address damage from the recent windstorm in April, the Board approved waiving the competitive bidding process due to urgent necessity and agreed to contracts with Heiberger Paving and Musco Sports Lighting for track repairs.

The district noted that repairs are needed as soon as possible to prevent further damage to school property and minimize disruption to student programs. The district is also working with its property insurance company to obtain estimates for all wind-related damages.
