The Benjamin Logan Instrumental Music Department is inviting the public to an evening of music, community, and giving back as it presents its annual benefit concert, Improvising A Cure, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The event will be held in the Benjamin Logan High School Commons.

Now in its 13th year, Improvising A Cure has become a cherished tradition within the Benjamin Logan community, bringing together students, families, and local supporters in a shared effort to raise funds for the Logan County Cancer Society.

The concert will showcase performances by both the Benjamin Logan Middle School and High School jazz ensembles and combos, highlighting the talent and dedication of student musicians.

Along with live jazz music, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the evening, including a silent auction featuring student artwork, a bake sale, a 50/50 drawing, and a BBQ-themed dinner.

Menu items will include pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, cheesy potatoes, coleslaw, and more.

There is no admission cost to attend the event, though donations are encouraged.

Proceeds from donations at the door, as well as fundraising activities including the silent auction, bake sale, 50/50 drawing, and t-shirt sales, will benefit the Logan County Cancer Society.

Dinner proceeds will support the Benjamin Logan Jazz Program.

Members of the jazz ensembles will also be selling official Improvising A Cure t-shirts during the event.

Organizers say the concert remains a highlight of the school year. “This event is truly one of the highlights of the year for our Music Department,” they shared. “It’s a special opportunity for our students to use their talents to make a meaningful impact in our community.”

The public is encouraged to attend and enjoy an evening filled with music, food, and community spirit in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.
