The Champaign County Board of Developmental Disabilities hosted the 2025 annual Touch-A-Truck event Friday morning and afternoon.
The event was an opportunity for families and children to get up close and personal with different types of vehicles, such as work trucks, first responder vehicles, and heavy machinery.
According to the CCBDD website, Touch-A-Truck is an inclusive event designed to be a fun and welcoming get-together for all members of the community. It is meant to create a space where people can come, explore, learn, and connect in a relaxed and engaging environment.
Leigh Anne Wenning is the Superintendent of the CCBDD and helped organize the event. Wenning was thrilled to see so many people in the community present.
Eventgoers also were able to enjoy free hot dogs, chips, water, and Kona Ice shaved ice.
