Community members gathered on Friday morning to celebrate the official ribbon-cutting for Bowl & Saddle, a new smoothie and açaí bowl food truck located at 605 Miami St. in Urbana.

Owner Abigail Christison said the business is the realization of a vision to create a place where people can enjoy fresh, healthy food in a welcoming atmosphere. Christison shared what inspired her to start Bowl & Saddle, the vision behind the business, and her goal of creating a community gathering place centered around nutritious, made-to-order menu items.

Bowl & Saddle operates out of a converted horse trailer that reflects the business’s rustic country-western theme. The outdoor space is designed to encourage customers to relax, enjoy their meals, and spend time with friends and family.

The menu features a variety of açaí bowls made from antioxidant-rich açaí berries blended into a creamy frozen base and topped with fresh ingredients. Customers can also choose from fruit smoothies and refreshing drinks made with real fruit, sourdough toast topped with both sweet and savory ingredients, and specialty wellness drinks.

Among the signature offerings is “The Red Head,” a ginger shot made with ginger, lemon, orange, honey, green apple, turmeric, and cayenne.

The business emphasizes using fresh, high-quality ingredients while offering menu items that provide a healthy option for breakfast, lunch, a snack, or post-workout refreshment.
