A county woman is facing OVI and traffic charges after a Memorial Day traffic stop in the city of Urbana.

According to an Urbana Police Division report, officers stopped a black Chevy truck around 4:03 a.m. on May 25 after allegedly observing the vehicle cross left of center on Miami Street.

Police identified the driver as 42-year-old Priscilla Gregg of Cable. Officers said Gregg told them there was a steering issue with the truck and admitted she had consumed one “Cutwater White Russian” alcoholic beverage before driving.

During the stop, officers also identified passenger Reginald Peralta Jr., who police said had two active warrants through Champaign County. He was taken into custody at the scene.

Police reported Gregg showed signs of impairment during standardized field sobriety tests. According to the report, officers observed indicators including balance issues, failure to follow instructions, swaying, and using her arms for balance during testing.

Gregg later declined both a portable breath test and a requested urine sample at the Urbana Police Division, according to police.

During a search of the vehicle, officers reported finding an unopened alcoholic beverage under the driver’s seat, three unopened Modelo beer bottles, a glass pipe with burnt residue, and a plastic bag containing a yellow square substance made up of 12 tabs. Police said the items were collected as evidence pending further testing.

Officers also noted Gregg appeared extremely talkative, restless, and agitated throughout the encounter, leading them to suspect possible stimulant use in addition to alcohol impairment.

A dog that was inside the vehicle during the stop was transported to the dog pound, and the truck was moved to a legal parking spot with Gregg’s permission.

Gregg was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and marked lane violations. The case remains under investigation.
