Motorists traveling through Champaign County should plan for continued road work this week as the Ohio Department of Transportation continues several paving projects.
Lane restrictions remain in place on State Route 55 between Old Troy Pike and U.S. 68.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane intermittently from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. with flaggers directing traffic while crews repave the roadway.
The project is expected to continue through August.
Similar restrictions are in effect on State Route 29 between State Route 235 and State Route 560, where repaving work is expected to continue through September.
Drivers should also expect intermittent one-lane traffic with flaggers between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
On State Route 245, motorists will encounter the same daytime lane restrictions between Brush Lake Road and Gilbert Road as crews continue paving work through September.
ODOT is also reminding drivers of two upcoming road closures later this month.
State Route 235 between U.S. 36 and Wolcott Road/Hellton Road will close August 17 through August 21 for culvert replacements.
The posted detour will follow State Route 235, U.S. 36, State Route 56, and State Route 55.
A second closure is scheduled for State Route 245 between Hite Road and Township Road 195 from August 24 through August 28 while crews replace several culverts.
The detour will use State Route 245, U.S. 68, State Route 296, and State Route 29.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down in work zones, watch for workers and equipment, and allow extra travel time.
