A Christiansburg man was cited for operating a vehicle while impaired following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Champaign County.
Troopers from the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash at approximately 9:08 p.m. on May 10. The incident occurred on state Route 55 east of mile marker 1 in Jackson Township.
According to an initial investigation, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 53-year-old Chad Musser of Christiansburg was traveling southwest on state Route 55 when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway.
The Silverado then struck a concrete culvert before colliding with a tree.
Musser was transported by ground ambulance to Springfield Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Investigators determined Musser was impaired at the time of the crash. He was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control of a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs and/or alcohol.
The crash remains under investigation by the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
