Residents in Champaign County will have an opportunity to donate blood during a community blood drive in September.
The Versiti Blood Center of Ohio will host the drive on Wednesday, September 16, from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 1512 U.S. 68 South in Urbana.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. Appointments can be made by calling 937-461-3220 or online through Versiti Dayton.
Donated blood helps local hospitals and patients who are receiving cancer treatment, undergoing surgery, managing chronic health conditions, or recovering from traumatic injuries.
Organizers say every donation helps strengthen the local blood supply and ensure blood is available when patients need it.
