Calling all incoming 5th graders. D.A.R.E. camp is for you!
The Bellefontaine Police Department (BPD) has an exciting opportunity for students entering 5th grade for the 2023/2024 school year. Some of the topics covered during camp will be relationship-building, decision-making, personal growth, responsibility, and drug abuse prevention.
Campers will take advantage of the many outdoor activities that YMCA Camp Wilson has to offer including, but not limited to, swimming, fishing, boating, climbing wall, archery, high rope adventures, and other team-building activities.
Lunch will be provided each day for campers.
D.A.R.E. Day Camps are at the YMCA Camp Wilson during July 17-24 and July 24-28. Camp hours will be 9 AM to 3 PM and students may only attend one week.
The BPD is looking for 20 students each week to attend.
Camp is free and transportation to and from Camp Wilson will be arranged through Bellefontaine City Schools if the student is within the city limits. Students may also be dropped off/picked up by a private vehicle.
If your child is interested in attending, forms may be picked up and returned to the Bellefontaine Police Department no later than July 3, 2023.
Spots are reserved on a first come first serve basis, and confirmation of attendance will be made by the Bellefontaine Police Department via telephone.
Students attending camp will need to bring a water bottle, swimsuit, and towel every day. Optional items include bug spray and sunscreen. Students must wear closed-toe shoes daily, and no flip-flops or sandals are permitted.
Please contact the Bellefontaine Police Department (937)599-1010 if you should have any questions.
