Representatives from Honda have released the following statement about Wednesday morning’s fire at Honda Transmission in Russells Point:
“A fire occurred inside the Honda Transmission Plant-Ohio facility in Russells Point, Ohio, early this morning that has been contained with no reported injuries. Production on first and second assembly shifts has been suspended today while efforts remain focused on ensuring the safety of our associates and supporting emergency response activities. All other areas of the plant remain operational. We appreciate the immediate response of local emergency responders and are working closely with local fire and safety officials. We have no additional information to share at this time.”
It has also been added that Honda’s Fire Brigade assisted at the scene.

A piece of machinery caught fire early Wednesday morning at Honda Transmission Manufacturing in Russells Point.
According to Indian Joint Fire District Chief Mark Gibson, crews were dispatched around 5:00 a.m.
Indian Joint Fire District firefighters responded to the plant, while the DeGraff Volunteer Fire Department was placed on standby.
The Lakeview Fire Department and Indian Lake EMS also responded to the scene.
Chief Gibson said the fire was limited to a piece of machinery inside the facility.
Crews remained on scene for about two hours before clearing.
No injuries were reported.

Emergency crews responded to Honda Transmission Manufacturing in Russells Point early Wednesday morning after a fire was reported at the facility.
Shortly after 5:00 a.m., crews from the Indian Joint Fire District, DeGraff Volunteer Fire Department, Lakeview Fire Department, and Indian Lake EMS were dispatched to the plant.
The building was evacuated as firefighters responded.
