Grand jury issues indictments on multiple felony charges in Champaign County

The Champaign County Grand Jury handed down indictments for multiple individuals during its recent session.

The following is a list of those indicted, along with their charges:

Zevion J. Edwards

Felonious assault, a felony of the second degree (2 counts), each with firearm specifications
Improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a felony of the fourth degree
Carrying concealed weapons, a felony of the fourth degree
Each applicable count includes specifications for forfeiture of property

Alexander L. Roberts

Burglary, a felony of the second degree
Obstructing official business, a felony of the fifth degree
Violating a protection order, a misdemeanor of the first degree
Violating a protection order, a felony of the third degree

Robert G. Adkins

Compelling prostitution, a felony of the third degree (2 counts)
Sexual imposition, a misdemeanor of the third degree

Steven P. Rafferty

Illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility, a felony of the third degree

Wendell L. Cruse

Failure to appear as required by recognizance, a felony of the fourth degree

Michael T. Robinson

Failure to appear as required by recognizance, a felony of the fourth degree

Brent M. Grooms

Receiving stolen property, a felony of the fourth degree
Obstructing official business, a felony of the fifth degree
