Renovations at Harmon Park, located at the intersection of Troy Road and Sandusky Avenue in Bellefontaine, are well underway.

Drivers passing by the park have likely noticed a lot of activity, including heavy equipment on site, a baseball field now topped with artificial turf, new playground equipment being installed, and construction of updated restroom facilities.

The project is part of a broader effort by the city to improve parks and recreational spaces throughout the community.

Parks Superintendent Rick Reed says progress continues not only at Harmon Park, but across several park projects around the city.

Reed also says this will be the final season for Hoffman Pool.

The pool is expected to be demolished in August, with plans to rebuild a new facility in 2027.

Looking ahead to this weekend, the city is preparing to host a baseball tournament that will bring hundreds of players and their families to the area, providing a boost to the local economy.
