The City of Bellefontaine will begin its regularly scheduled 2026 leaf pickup program Monday, October 26.
Service-Safety Director Wes Dodds says crews will collect leaves on October 26, 27, and 28 in the area north of Columbus Avenue and east of Main Street.
Pickup will then move to the area south of Columbus Avenue and east of Main Street on October 29, 30, and November 2.
Residents should place leaves in the boulevard or as close to the street as possible, but not in the street or on the sidewalk.
Vehicles should be moved away from leaf piles so collection equipment can reach them.
The leaf machine cannot pick up bagged leaves, branches, brush, or trash.
The city also reminds residents that regular refuse collection cannot pick up leaves or other yard waste.
Under city ordinance, grass clippings, shrub trimmings, flowers, and other materials cannot be placed on streets or alleys where they could wash into or clog storm sewers.
Residents can contact the Street Department at [email protected] or 937-592-1736 with questions.
