Indian Lake Board of Education says goodbye to two long-time employees

The Indian Lake Board of Education met in regular session Monday night and approved the retirements of two long-time Indian Lake employees, Lisa Beale and Deb Metzger.

Prior to that action, the board approved modifications to earlier resource and appropriation estimates, approved the provider for voluntary student insurance for the 2026-2027 school year, and approved a debt service payment of $173,793.75.

The board also approved the physical providers for bus and van drivers for the 2026-2027 school year.

In his report to the board, Superintendent Dr. Rob Underwood recognized several students for their performance during the winter sports season:

  • All-State Division V Basketball: Broadey Reisinger – 3rd Team; Avery Pequignot – Honorable Mention
  • Division III State Wrestling qualifiers: Ke’Shawn Blackwell, Jordan Henderson, Brayden Riffell, Chris Timms (2nd Place 285 lbs.), Annie Rapp (8th Place 145 lbs. Women’s)
  • In addition, supplemental contracts for coaches for fall and winter sports for the 2026-2027 school year were approved.

The retirement of Lisa Beale, after a 20-year career as a high school secretary, will be effective July 1, 2026, and Deb Metzger’s 27-year career as a high school Educational Assistant and Media Specialist will end effective June 1, 2026.
