The Indian Lake High School Quiz Bowl Team recently returned from a memorable and competitive trip to the NAQT Small School National Championship Tournament in Chicago.
While in the city, students balanced competition with a chance to explore.
The group attended a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field and toured the Field Museum.
They also experienced a variety of dining options, including Indian cuisine.
On the competition floor, the Lakers went 3-7 in preliminary rounds on Saturday before rebounding with a strong 3-1 performance in Sunday’s consolation rounds.
Advisor Matt Steinbarger says the trip was a valuable experience for the team, combining learning, competition, and team bonding.
Team members included Sophie Roberts, JJ Aspidow, Evan Wu, Sebastian Zook, Xavier Johnson, Hayes Henry, and Bryce Mohler, all of whom helped represent Indian Lake on the national stage.
