Many kids who have recently lost a loved one are gathering together this week at Camp Braveheart located at Marmon Valley Farms.

The camp is offered by Universal Home Health and Hospice for children ages 5 through 13.

Losing someone close is difficult and this camp helps them build healthy coping skills in a safe environment and can connect kids based on their experiences.

During the day camp, children take part in activities such as horseback riding, challenge courses, campfires, small groups, and creative projects.

The camp started Wednesday and will end today.

Many volunteers step in from local nurses, counselors, and teachers.

This year there are over 40 kids who are participating.

We caught up with Lauryn Pitroff, Grief Camp Director from Universal Home Health and Hospice:

The main takeaway is for kids to know that they are not alone, and help is out there.
