A local family will share a special moment this Mother’s Day at The Ohio State University as Heather Shepherd and her son, Carson Shepherd, graduate together.
The mother and son will walk across the stage together during Ohio State commencement ceremonies on Sunday.
Heather Shepherd earned her bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications while working full-time in the university’s Integrated Business and Engineering program.
Carson Shepherd earned a degree in Operations Management while working at the Blackwell Inn during college.
Carson is also a 2021 graduate of Indian Lake High School.
The family says graduating together on Mother’s Day makes the experience even more meaningful and shows that it’s never too late to continue your education or pursue a goal.
