Benjamin Logan students Cayden Brown and Sophia VanVoorhis showcased their artistic talent at the prestigious Ohio Art Education Association’s Emerging Artist Show, held at the Columbus College of Art and Design.

Although Charley Hardman, the Fourth Congressional District winner, was unable to attend due to her return travel from Washington, D.C., her work was also honored alongside students from across Ohio.

The event highlighted the exceptional artistry of these students, with Cayden Brown being selected as a top winner in the mixed media category.

Cayden’s remarkable achievement was recognized with a prize pack of Blick art materials.

Their artwork was on display from June 17-28, 2024, at the Columbus College of Art and Design.

The exhibit, targeting Ohio students in grades nine through twelve, aims to promote art education and recognize quality student art through various state and regional exhibits.

Out of two hundred submissions, one hundred thirty-eight pieces were selected for this juried show, representing the nine OAEA regions in Ohio.

This exhibit is designed to motivate and inspire emerging artists to excel in various forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, computer art, photography, and printing.

The dedication and creativity of the participating students and the support from their teachers, who foster innovative thinking and skillful techniques, were evident and commendable.

A celebratory reception took place on June 28, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where students and teachers were honored.

During the reception, students were awarded certificates and prizes, with some works receiving special recognition in different categories.
