Logan County Angels recently held its third annual board meeting, marking three years since the organization was founded.
Logan County Angels is a local initiative dedicated to providing financial support to families who have lost a pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade student who was enrolled in a Logan County school at the time of their passing.
The program helps ease the financial burden of funeral expenses while also providing a network of compassion, understanding, and practical support for families experiencing an unimaginable loss.
Since its founding, Logan County Angels has helped fund funeral expenses for three students across Logan County schools.
Families may be eligible for assistance following the loss of a student enrolled in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade at Bellefontaine City Schools, Benjamin Logan Schools, Calvary Christian, Discovery Center, Indian Lake Schools, Riverside, or West Liberty-Salem.
An oversight committee includes a representative from each participating school district to help ensure accountability and fair distribution of funds.
Current committee members include:
- Lauren Houseman with Bellefontaine City Schools
- Sally Stolly with Benjamin Logan
- Tony Carter with Calvary Christian
- Joan Haushalter and Russ Hogue as community liaisons
- Krista Oldiges with the Discovery Center
- Rob Underwood with Indian Lake
- Debbie Gonterman with Riverside
- Molly Smith with West Liberty-Salem
- Taylor Allison, a Mary Rutan Health liaison
United Way of Logan County serves as the fiscal agent for Logan County Angels. Donations are tax-deductible and are processed through the United Way of Logan County.
Logan County Angels encourages community members to donate to help continue its mission of supporting families during times of loss.
