The following is a letter to Logan County from Treasurer Rhonda Stafford:
Dear Citizens of Logan County:
It has been both an honor and a privilege to serve Logan County since 2004. I have had the opportunity to serve as a county employee, and since 2019, I have been honored to serve as your County Treasurer.
During my tenure, I have been proud to embrace new technology and implement improvements that have made the Treasurer’s Office more efficient, accessible, and convenient for the citizens we serve. Some of these improvements include:
Computers, scanners, and printers at the customer service counter
Scanners to efficiently process bulk payments, including those received by mail
A currency counter and discriminator to improve the accuracy and efficiency of cash handling
Online access to print tax bills and make tax payments
E-Billing
And many other improvements designed to better serve the taxpayers of Logan County
After much thought and careful consideration, I have decided that the time has come for me to retire from public service, effective December 1, 2026.
While this decision brings a great deal of emotion, I am also looking forward to the new opportunities that lie ahead. I am excited to spend more time with family and friends and to embark on new adventures that are yet to be determined.
I have been truly blessed to have had the opportunity to serve the citizens of Logan County as your Treasurer. Throughout my years of service, I have treasured the friendships I have made, the conversations I have shared, and the many personal experiences that have come with serving our community. Each of these has made my time in public service incredibly meaningful.
It has been a true honor to serve you.
By announcing my retirement well in advance, I hope to provide ample time to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for the Treasurer’s Office, its employees, and my successor.
