April 8th, 2024, thousands of people gathered across Ohio to witness the rare total solar eclipse.
The event, which had been months in the making, lived up to the excitement as crowds watched the moon cover the sun.
Ohio had last experienced a partial eclipse in 2017, but April 8th marked the first total eclipse in the state since 1806.
The next total eclipse in Ohio won’t be until the fall of 2099.
As the eclipse reached totality just before 3:10 PM, cheers could be heard across the county as day briefly turned to night.
The darkened sky left many in awe.
While the event was memorable, traffic congestion as visitors left the area was not nearly as long as had been projected.
The eclipse was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that many will never forget.
