On Tuesday, the Logan County Grand Jury indicted Briana Mohler for aggravated vehicular homicide as a result of the January 25th traffic crash that claimed the life of Chloe Hodge, a 17-year-old Indian Lake/Ohio Hi-Point student.

Mohler, 32, of Lakeview, was charged with one count of aggravated vehicular homicide, a first-degree felony, as well as a third-degree count of involuntary manslaughter.

She was also charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and driving under suspension.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office presented evidence to the grand jury that Mohler was driving under the influence on County Road 130 when she traveled left-of-center and into the path of the vehicle Hodge was driving.

Mohler pleaded guilty on January 9th to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and was out on bond pending sentencing in that case.

The same day she was indicted, Mohler appeared in Court for sentencing on the aggravated possession of drugs charge and was sentenced to six months in the Logan County Jail and three months in a community-based correctional facility.

The maximum sentence for a felony of the fifth degree is 12 months.

A trial on the new charges is set for May 13-14.

Many of Hodge’s classmates appeared at the sentencing hearing wearing t-shirts in support of their friend.
