Saturday marks the second day of the 185th Champaign County Fair, bringing a full schedule of livestock shows, exhibits, family activities, and one of the week’s biggest grandstand events.
The day begins at 8 a.m. in the Woodruff Show Arena with the Junior Fair Beef Feeder Show, followed by the Live Carcass Class, Scramble Class, Cattlemen’s Breeding Heifer Show, and the Cattlemen’s Market Top 5. Culinary exhibits will also be accepted from 8 to 11 a.m.
At 9 a.m., swine exhibitors take the ring for Junior Fair Swine Showmanship, followed by the Junior Fair County Farrowed Swine Show, while Junior Fair horse competitions continue throughout the day.
The Ag Innovation Series returns from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Activities Building, and rabbit exhibitors will compete in the One Day ARBA Sanctioned Rabbit Show beginning at 10 a.m.
The afternoon features several family-friendly events, including the Homemakers Style Show at 11:30 a.m., Pee Wee Goat Showmanship at noon, and Garden Club Judging at 1 p.m. Young 4-H members will also be recognized during the 4-H Cloverbud Recognition at 3 p.m. in the Junior Fair Modeling Pavilion.
Livestock competition continues at 5 p.m. with the Junior Fair Market Goat Show, followed by the Wether Dam and Production Does classes. Fairgoers can also enjoy live music from Lauren Rismiller from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Lions Park Gazebo.
Saturday’s featured event begins at 7 p.m. as the NTPA Truck and Tractor Pull takes over the Grandstand. The popular event brings some of the nation’s top competitors to Champaign County for an evening of horsepower and excitement.
