The Ohio Hi-Point Board of Education met in a regular session Wednesday evening.

The board heard a presentation from the Threat Assessment Team at OHP.

The team utilizes the Navigate360 CSTAG Training which prepares them to better assess and react to potential behavioral threats by identifying students and situations that raise concern, gathering information and facts to assess the risk of violence, and developing intervention and management strategies to support the student and prevent violence.

The Threat Assessment Team is comprised of Deputy Adam Niederkohr (SRO), Mark Butler (Academic Supervisor), Jon Cook (Dean of Students), Shelby Clem (Administrative Assistant), Erica Rice (Nurse), and Angie Haver (Mental Health Counselor).

In other board news, Superintendent Dr. Rick Smith updated the board on the construction project was nearing completion. A date of December 1st has been set for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the public to check out all of the updates made on Ohio Hi-Point’s campus.

The Ohio Hi-Point Board of Education will meet again on Wednesday, October 26, at 7 p.m. in the board of education conference room.
