This year marks a significant milestone for the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center (OHP), as it celebrates 50 years of dedicated career and technical education.
To commemorate this achievement, OHP will host a special All-Class Reunion and Community Event on Thursday, from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at its Bellefontaine campus.
The celebration will include live music, local food trucks, program demonstrations, and opportunities for alumni and community members to reconnect.
Guests are invited to explore the campus and learn about the various career programs that have shaped the lives of countless students over the years.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone and reflect on our journey,” said OHP Superintendent Rick Smith. “This event is a tribute to our past while also looking forward to the future of career education in our community.”
Since opening its doors in 1974 with only six programs, OHP has expanded to offer 19 on-campus programs and nearly 50 satellite programs, covering fields such as agriculture, business, health care, information technology, automotive, welding, and construction. The center aims to equip students with industry-recognized credentials, helping them to secure jobs, pursue further education, or join the military.
Currently, Ohio Hi-Point serves over 700 high school juniors and seniors on its campus, while its satellite programs reach more than 4,700 students in grades seven through 12 across the region.
