Bellefontaine’s newest firefighter/paramedic, Zachary Perigo, was officially sworn in Tuesday afternoon by Bellefontaine Mayor Dave Crissman.
Perigo took the oath of office and accepted his commission as a firefighter/paramedic with the Bellefontaine Fire Department on October 6, 2026.
According to the oath, Perigo pledged to support the Constitution of the United States and the State of Ohio, follow the laws and ordinances of the City of Bellefontaine, and perform his duties in a professional manner.
He also pledged to follow the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the Bellefontaine Fire Department and to serve the public to the best of his ability.
Perigo is a seasoned first responder, and his addition brings the Bellefontaine Fire Department nearly to a full roster.
