According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, drivers in Logan County should be prepared for a series of new, continuing, and upcoming road impacts affecting multiple state and U.S. routes.

NEW IMPACTS:

A temporary closure will impact U.S. 33 in both directions between U.S. 68 and Township Road 56 on Sunday, May 3.

Crews will be completing overhead utility work, and traffic will be subject to rolling roadblocks with intermittent full closures lasting up to 15 minutes between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.

CONTINUING IMPACTS:

Several ongoing lane restrictions remain in place through 2026 for roadway repaving projects:

  • State Route 117 between the Hardin/Logan County Line and State Route 274 is reduced to one lane daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through August.
  • State Route 245 between the Mad River east of West Liberty and the Champaign/Logan County line has similar one-lane restrictions under flagging operations.
  • State Route 287 between State Route 245 and U.S. 33 remains under lane restrictions for resurfacing work.
  • State Route 638 between U.S. 68 and Township Road 51 is also reduced to one lane during daytime hours.

On County Road 55, the bridge over U.S. 33 is closed for approximately 30 days beginning April 15 for joint replacement work, with a detour posted via Township Road 55 and County Road 10.

In addition, U.S. 33 at the Township Road 55 bridge will continue to see single-lane restrictions through mid-May as bridge joint replacement work continues.

UPCOMING IMPACTS:

Beginning Monday, May 4, several additional routes will see extended lane restrictions for repaving projects running through the summer:

  • State Route 235 between State Route 720 and the Hardin/Logan County Line
  • State Route 274 between Rushsylvania village limits and State Route 273
  • State Route 366 between State Route 235 and U.S. 33

Each will be reduced to one lane daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. with flagging operations in place.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead, expect delays, and use caution in all construction zones.
