According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly before 2 p.m. to the area of County Road 32 and County Road 130 on a report of a possible domestic incident occurring inside a vehicle.

Deputies spoke with 46-year-old David Williams, of Bellefontaine, who admitted he had been arguing with a woman while they were traveling in a vehicle.

Williams told deputies he had been drinking the night before and was tired after being awake all night.

The female driver told deputies that Williams became increasingly angry while they were driving and began yelling at her.

She reported that Williams threatened to slap her and cause her to wreck the vehicle.

Fearing for her safety, the woman pulled over and eventually exited the vehicle.

She told deputies a passing motorist stopped and helped her get away from Williams.

Deputies said Williams became agitated while they were investigating the incident and was detained at the scene.

The woman also told deputies that Williams had been drinking alcohol and using cocaine the previous night.

With the driver’s consent, deputies searched the vehicle but found no illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia.

Williams was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail.

He was charged with one count of menacing.
