Vietnam veteran Ronald Dean Roby was recognized for his military service by the Logan County Commissioners Tuesday and was presented with a flag that had flown over the courthouse. Roby was nominated for the award by the Logan County Veterans Service Commission.
Roby graduated from West Liberty-Salem High School in 1965, joined the United States Marine Corps in October 1966, and served in the Vietnam War from February to October 1968. He received several commendations during his service, including the Vietnam Combat Action Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation Ribbon, and the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Campaign Stars.

Guests include wife Connie Roby, Lane Shepherd, Leonard Taylor, Kimberly Taylor, and Danielle Prater. Also, several elected officials were in attendance, including Logan County Recorder Pat Myers, Logan County Treasurer Rhonda Stafford, and Logan County Appointed Clerk of Courts Jackie Prater.
