Sick Birds Head Home From Fair

Officials from the Logan County Fair confirmed Wednesday afternoon that a few birds on the grounds fell ill on Tuesday.

After finding the illnesses, the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) was called to the fairgrounds to test birds.

All testing returned negative results for Avian Bird Flu and Newcastle Disease.

On ODA recommendation, out of caution, exhibitors were given the option to remove their birds from the fairgrounds at no penalty.

One dozen birds birds were taken home.

A bird is reported to have died as a result of illness.
