Emergency crews responded early Monday morning to a single-vehicle crash near Millerstown Road at State Route 29 in Champaign County.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:37 a.m. on February 23, 2026.
According to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, a pickup truck traveled off the roadway and struck a tree, sustaining heavy damage.
The driver suffered a head injury and had to be extricated from the vehicle.
Fire and EMS personnel provided on-scene assistance, and the driver was transported to Mercy Health – Urbana Hospital for treatment.
CareFlight was placed on standby during the response.
The roadway near Zimmerman Road was temporarily closed as emergency crews and a tow service cleared the scene.
The County Engineer’s Office also responded to assist.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional details are being released at this time.
