Tapp honored for military service

Belle Center resident Roger Tapp was honored for his military service in a ceremony hosted by the Logan County Commissioners on Tuesday morning. Tapp, who served in the United States Army, received the flag flown over the Logan County Courthouse in April.

He served active duty in the Army from 1967 to 1967, and remained in the United States Army Reserve until 1973.

He earned several commendations during his service, including the National Defense Service Medal, two Overseas Bars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Tapp grew up in Rushsylvania and attended Plains High School in Mt. Sterling, Ohio. He graduated in 1965.

Other officials in attendance included Logan County Clerk of Courts Jackie Prater, Cole Harbour, Deputy Treasurer of Logan County, Logan County Administrator David Henry, Logan County HR Director Justing Arbogast, and Logan County Commissioners Administrative Assistant DeDe Doss.
