*Update as of Wednesday at 7:10 pm: The Henderson Police Department has been working diligently to locate Bradley Gillespie.
The vehicle that the inmates stole was a red 1991 Mercury Capri from Lima.
During their search efforts, police have utilized a large amount of manpower from several law enforcement agencies, police K9s, water vessels, helicopters, and drones.
*Update as of Wednesday at 9:15 am: A command post has been established at the Hayes Boat Ramp in Henderson, KY. The park is closed while multiple agencies assist in coordinating efforts to locate Gillespie.
*Update as of Wednesday at 6 am: According to the Henderson Police Department in Kentucky, they spotted a suspected stolen vehicle believed to be occupied by the escapees early Wednesday morning. They initiated a traffic stop and it attempted to flee.
Officers pursued the vehicle until it wrecked. The two inmates fled from the car.
Police apprehended James Lee and he is in custody.
The other suspect, Bradley Gillespie, is still at-large.
Police have set up a perimeter and continue to use all their resources to locate Gillespie.
Authorities are searching for two inmates who have escaped from Allen-Oakwood Correctional Facility in Lima.
Tuesday, Bradley Gillespie (pictured left) 50, and James Lee (right) 47, broke out of the facility and are considered armed and dangerous.
Gillespie is described as 6′ tall, bald with blue eyes and weighs 200 pounds. Lee is bald in the picture, but described as 5′ 11″ with brown hair, blue eyes and weighs 280 pounds.
Gillespie was sent to prison in 2016 on murder charges out of Paulding County. He was sentenced to two 15-year to life sentences for the murders of two women.
Lee went to prison in 2021 for eleven years for multiple charges including burglary and safecracking in Allen County.
No other details have been released regarding their escape.
If you see these two men call 911 immediately and do not approach them.
Allen-Oakwood Correctional Facility is located on Lima’s north side and houses nearly 1,500 inmates.
