Washington Township Police arrest Jackson for possession

A Waverly man was arrested Wednesday evening during a traffic stop in Washington Township.

According to Washington Township Police, officers stopped a vehicle around 6:40 p.m. on Township Road 239 near U.S. Route 33.

44-year-old Jon Jackson was stopped due to a turn signal violation.

Police say that while speaking with Jackson, officers noticed signs of possible drug use and that he appeared overly nervous.

Jackson was asked to exit the vehicle and was questioned about whether he had anything illegal on his person.

He reportedly admitted to having methamphetamine in his pocket.

Officers recovered the substance, which field-tested positive for the drug.

Jackson was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was lodged on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
