The Reach’s first Summer Park Days outing for 2026 was a great start to this year’s outreach effort. Families gathered at Lions Park for a morning of fun and free activities.

The Reach is a Community Resource Center in Bellefountaine aimed at building stronger families through tools used to navigate life’s challenges and stresses. The Reach is a 100% voluntary program and is free of charge. The program offers programs in Mental and Behavioral Health Needs, Unruly Youth, Diversion cases, and more.

Additionally, the program arranges youth events aimed at providing fun for Logan County youth as well as spreading awareness about the program. Events are aimed at ages 8-18 and are free to all Logan County youth. The program will continue hosting these events across Logan County parks this summer, as well as a Life Skills for Teens Summer Camp, the last week of July.

Stacy McLaughlin, Resource Navigator 1 for The Reach, is a former preschool teacher and Logan County native. She has also served as the Service Coordinator for the Logan County Family and Children First Council. When asked about the goals of Summer Park days, McLaughlin said, “We’re here for fun! We want youth to be entertained throughout the summer.” McLaughlin also added that by going to different parks in Logan County, families can come to the park for youth services.

Mikaela Mohr is the second Resource Navigator at The Reach. She is a former camp counselor and previously worked with the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District. Mohr stressed the importance of becoming involved, inviting families to “Come hang out and have fun” as well as to reach out via social media or phone, saying “we’re here to help!”

The Reach’s second Summer Park Days event will be at Richland Township Park in Belle Center. The Reach will also be hosting their monthly kickback that night with an ice cream social at their center in Bellefountaine.
