The Bellefontaine eighth-grade Chiefs continued their strong start to the season Thursday night, rolling to a 36-0 shutout victory over Graham.

Bellefontaine’s offense made big plays throughout the game, starting with Jax Fleming, who broke loose for a 54-yard touchdown to open the scoring.

The Chiefs continued to find success through the air. Caleb Palmer hauled in two receptions for 72 yards and two touchdowns, while Tovan Benton added three catches for 73 yards and two touchdowns.

Bellefontaine’s defense was equally impressive, pitching a shutout while creating multiple turnovers. Julian Anderson came away with an interception, while Jon Ruiz forced a fumble and recovered it for the Chiefs.

The dominant performance allowed Bellefontaine to remain unbeaten on the young season and continue building momentum.

Graham’s defense was led by Gabe Maurice, Casey Sells and Wally Sothard, who each recorded a sack. The Falcons fell to 1-1 on the season.

Bellefontaine will return to action Sept. 17 when the Chiefs host Urbana.

The Bellefontaine 7th-graders turned in a dominant performance Monday evening, shutting out Upper Sandusky 20-0 in a hard-fought team victory.

The BMS offense was led by Jonathan Harvey, who put together a big night with six receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown. His big-play ability helped spark the Chiefs’ offense throughout the game.

Britton Evans found the end zone on a powerful 34-yard touchdown run, while Dray Luburtus added a 15-yard touchdown run. Luburtus also made an impact defensively, forcing a fumble to help keep Upper Sandusky off the scoreboard.

The Chiefs’ defense was relentless throughout the night, holding Upper Sandusky scoreless in the shutout effort. Mason Rutheford and Gunner Law shared the team lead with six tackles each, while Camden Welch recorded two pass deflections.

Bellefontaine controlled the game on both sides of the ball and finished with an impressive 20-0 victory.
