The West Liberty-Salem girls soccer team continued its strong conference run Thursday night, earning an 8-0 shutout victory over Springfield Catholic Central at home.
The Tigers got balanced scoring throughout the match. Jenna Cline, Karlee Lucas and Skylar Roop each found the back of the net twice, while Arianna Weaver and Avery Brown each added a goal.
Lilly Yeater finished with two assists, and Kennedy Bowman added another assist to help lead the Tigers’ offensive attack.
West Liberty-Salem also turned in a strong defensive performance. Ella Jacobs and Weaver each recorded a save, with the two combining for the shutout.
The win moves the Tigers to 5-3-1 overall on the season and 4-1-1 in conference play.
West Liberty-Salem will be back on the field Monday night when the Tigers travel to North Union for a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
