Bellefontaine Girls Take Third at Tournament

The Bellefontaine girls’ varsity bowling team had an impressive performance on Saturday, November 23rd, at HP Lanes, finishing in third place in a competitive tournament featuring 20 teams.

The team bowled three regular games and two baker games, posting scores of 807, 865, and 848, for a total of 2,520. After adding their baker scores of 166 and 182, their final score was 2,868, placing them in third heading into the final rounds of the tournament.

In the elimination rounds, Bellefontaine defeated Tecumseh, winning 503 to 484, and then Van Wert, 500 to 420, to move on to the semifinals. There, they faced Kettering Fairmont but were ultimately outscored, with Fairmont’s baker total of 549 topping Bellefontaine’s 479. Fairmont went on to win the tournament, defeating Magnificent (Rocky River) in the final.

Gracie Hood was a standout, finishing third individually with scores of 170, 207, and 262 for a total of 639. She was also named to the All-Tournament team.

Other scores included Nevaeh LaFollette, who totaled 502 with games of 148, 199, and 155; Chloe Heminger with a 470 (152, 165, 153); and Haylee Yelton with a 450 (157, 168, 125). Avery Mullins contributed a 180-game score, and Isabelle Gunnett added a 153.
