The Lady Chiefs 8th-grade volleyball team fell short tonight in a great battle with Urbana: 22-22, 25-7 & 25-22.
For the Chiefs:
- Ava Oppy had a solid night with 5 kills, 5 points, 2 aces, 4 assists and 7 digs
- Zaleny Storm had 5 assists, 2 digs, and one kill
- Brooklyne Kuntz added 3 kills, and 1 dig and served up 4 points
- Lyla Connor 7 points serving with one ace and had 3 digs
- Hailey Augustus added 5 points serving, 3 digs, and 1 kill
- Ariy Rangel added three kills
- Celine Blinn added 7 digs
- Kinnley Dunn added 4 digs
The 7th-grade Lady Chiefs played a scrappy game but fell short to Urbana 15-25 & 16-25.
Leading the Chiefs:
- Lexey Brown had 2 kills in the contest
- Diana Martinez chipped in with 1 kill
- Mia Brown contributed 3 assists and 2 aces
- Madaline Barrett and Madylin Jenkins combined for 3 digs.
The Chiefs play at Tecumseh on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.
