Coach LaBatt also highlighted standout performances, especially from Brenden Murray, whose victory in the fourth round secured the win in the dual. “Brenden has one of the biggest hearts on the team,” LaBatt said. “I hope that victory helps his confidence.”
Jeffrey Smith had an undefeated day, going 5-0 with four pins, while Maddox Keith also delivered strong wins.
Exhibition matches were wrestled by Braidyn Coulson (132) and Carter Janes (138).
The varsity team will wrap up their regular season this Saturday at the Central Buckeye Conference at Jonathan Alder, while the junior varsity squad will conclude their season at the Marysville JV Finale.
