Benjamin Logan Girls Open Season with Wins

The Benjamin Logan girls basketball teams got their season off to a strong start on Monday night with a double victory over Upper Scioto Valley (USV) in a non-league matchup.

In the Junior Varsity game, the Lady Raiders pulled off a thrilling comeback to win 18-17. After trailing 13-4 at the end of the first quarter, the Ben Logan girls outscored USV 14-4 in the second quarter to secure the win. Bonnie Brunson and Aubrey Harris led the scoring with 6 points each, while Haylee Smith added 4 points, and Madison Shields chipped in 2.

The Varsity girls had a dominant performance, defeating USV 60-24. The Lady Raiders held a commanding 32-9 lead at halftime and never looked back. Kylie Harner led the team with 12 points, followed by Lahna Cook and Daylin Varner, each contributing 10 points. Adilynne Gregg added 8 points, while Haylee Smith had 7. Bonnie Brunson and Elliott Butler rounded out the scoring with 4 points apiece. The team’s strong defense was also key, limiting USV to just 24 points throughout the game.

Both the JV and Varsity teams will be back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Bluffton High School to take on the Pirates. Tip-off for the JV game is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
