The Benjamin Logan Raiders celebrated a successful day on the gridiron, with both the 7th and 8th grade teams securing victories against North Union.
The 7th grade team dominated their matchup, winning decisively with a score of 22-8. The offense showcased a balanced attack, while the defense effectively stifled North Union’s attempts to score.
In the 8th grade game, the Raiders continued their winning streak with a close 24-18 victory. The offense was led by Rhett Newman, who had an impressive performance with 212 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Emerson Carpenter contributed with 25 yards on the ground, while Gabe Predmore and Brock Bates each added 16 yards. Quarterback Colton Little completed 4 of 8 passes for 21 yards, keeping the chains moving for the Raiders.
The Raider defense was instrumental in securing the win, especially with a critical stop on 4th down late in the game to deny North Union a chance to tie. Carrick Spriggs led the charge with 16 tackles, while Emerson Carpenter added 11 tackles and Gabe Predmore contributed 5 tackles. AJ Bergman also made a significant impact with an interception.
