Several area volleyball teams were in action Thursday night, with Benjamin Logan, Bellefontaine and Riverside earning varsity victories.
Varsity – Benjamin Logan 3, Indian Lake 1
The Benjamin Logan Lady Raiders traveled to Indian Lake Thursday night for a Mad River Conference matchup and battled to a four-set victory.
The Raiders won the opening set 25-20 before Indian Lake answered with a 28-26 win in the second. Benjamin Logan responded with a 25-23 victory in the third set and closed out the match 25-22 in the fourth.
The loss in the second set was the first set Benjamin Logan has dropped all season, but the Raiders remained undefeated, improving to 11-0 on the season.
Summer Cline led Benjamin Logan with 26 kills, while Georgia Daniels added 15 and Abby Vance had 10. Avah Miller and Storm LeVan each recorded two kills.
Autumn Cline directed the Raider offense with 58 assists.
Brielle Kline recorded a 1.94 passing rating, while Lydia Johnson posted a 2.9 passing rating.
For Indian Lake, Cami Bailey led the Lakers with 17 kills and 11 digs. Mackenzie Miller added 15 kills, 14 digs and two aces.
Madison Davis finished with five kills, two blocks and three digs, while Courtney Altstaetter had seven kills.
Addyson Roby recorded four kills, 40 assists, 11 digs and an ace. Quinn Imm and Kyler Carruthers each had eight digs and an assist.
JV – Indian Lake 2, Benjamin Logan 0
The Indian Lake JV team earned a straight-set victory over Benjamin Logan, 25-16 and 25-13.
Claire Tidwell led the Lakers with six kills and three digs, while Audra Harford added four kills.
Hayleigh Penix had four kills and four blocks. Lux Kipker recorded six digs, three aces and nine assists, while Layna Nessler finished with nine assists and two aces.
Addison Headings added five digs.
Freshman – Indian Lake 2, Benjamin Logan 0
The Indian Lake freshman team also picked up a two-set victory, winning 25-21 and 25-13.
Addison Headings had seven digs, five kills and six assists. Hayleigh Penix added five kills, while Adeline Schulz had four kills.
Carsyn Warnecke recorded seven digs and 10 assists. Julie Wolf had four digs and six aces, while Reese Imm finished with 12 digs.
Varsity – Bellefontaine 3, Tecumseh 1
The Bellefontaine Lady Chiefs defeated the visiting Tecumseh Arrows Thursday evening in a conference matchup, winning 25-11, 25-17, 22-25 and 25-14.
Ava Layman led Bellefontaine with 14 kills and 14 digs. She also went 15-for-15 serving with an ace and an assist.
Arianna Rangel added 11 kills and four digs, while Lexey Brown had nine kills, two blocks, an ace and an assist.
Alayna Boyd finished with six kills, 10 digs, a block and an assist.
Jillian Ullom recorded 20 digs and surpassed the 500-dig mark. She was 14-for-16 on serve receive and 17-for-20 serving with two aces and three assists.
Celine Blinn went 15-for-15 serving with three aces and added 11 digs while going perfect on serve receive.
Presley Vigansky directed the offense with 34 assists and added eight digs, one kill, an ace and went 15-for-16 serving.
Jazmin Nelson added two kills.
The Lady Chiefs improve to 4-5 on the season and will travel to Emmanuel Christian Saturday.
JV – Bellefontaine 2, Tecumseh 0
The Bellefontaine JV team also earned a victory, winning 25-16 and 25-20.
Ellie Bosiljevac and Rylyn Hoskins-Rose each recorded four kills. Bosiljevac also had an ace and five receptions to target.
Rosie Lightle finished with eight assists, nine digs and an ace.
Brookelyn Oaks had a career-high 17 digs and three aces while going 6-for-7 on serve receive.
Alexis Hogan added six digs, three assists and a kill. Gianna Davis had three digs and an ace while going perfect on serve receive.
Hailey Augustus and Ellie Irick each added a kill, while Lexi McKirahan had three digs and was perfect on serve receive.
The JV Chiefs improve to 3-6 and will travel to Emmanuel Christian Saturday for a 10 a.m. match.
Varsity – Riverside 3, Northridge 0
Riverside traveled to Northridge Thursday and earned a straight-set varsity victory, 25-12, 25-15 and 25-7.
Kara Klingler led the Pirates with 21 assists and four aces.
Eva Dodds recorded seven kills, while Lily Zwiebel and Molly Carman each added four kills.
Emilee Robinson finished with nine digs.
JV – Riverside 2, Northridge 0
The Riverside JV team also earned a sweep, winning 25-2 and 25-6.
Ellie Zwiebel had eight assists and nine aces. Addison Shoe added five aces and two kills, while Madison Schinewolf recorded five kills.
7th Grade – Miami East 2, Riverside 0
Riverside hosted Miami East Thursday, with the Vikings earning a two-set victory, 25-21 and 25-10.
Kylie Godshall led the Pirates with four points and two aces. April Tryloff added three points and an ace.
Bella Castallante scored two points and recorded a tip, while Scarlett Lentz had two points and two aces.
Destiny Lattimer, Brielle Carpenter and Addison Manning each added a point.
8th Grade – Miami East 2, Riverside 0
Miami East also defeated Riverside in the eighth-grade match, 25-12 and 25-15.
Bella Beaty led the Pirates with seven points and an ace.
Avery Wheeler, April Tryloff and Brayla Olinger each added a point.
Riverside returns to action Monday when the Pirates host Covington in Truster Gymnasium.
