Calvary picks up dominant wins; Lady Lakers and Tigers lose non-conference games

Area basketball teams were in action Monday.

Varsity girls:

Indian Lake fell to Fort Recovery 41-35.

Mackenzie Dixon tossed in 13 and Stephanie Altstaetter recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lakers fall to 6-12.

West Liberty-Salem dropped a close one with Anna 38-35.

Megan Hollar led with 13, Chaley Wade tallied 7 points, Ava Astroino netted 6, Maddie Cole pitched in 4 points, Lilly Weaver had 3, and Bailey Poppe recorded 2 points.

The Lady Tigers are now 11-7.

West Liberty-Salem also lost in the JV game 35-25.

Laila Butler had 16 in the effort.

Calvary Christian rolled past Temple Christian 42-3.

Hannah Marlow paced the team with 12 points and 5 rebounds, Madhuri Cook recorded 6 points, Abigail Reinhard had 4 points, 5 steals, and 5 assists, Anna Kratz and Julie Childers each added 4 points, Laileigh Beatty and KayLee Hurley both scored 3 points, and Kari Gantz, Nora Thornton, and Karlie Penhorwood chipped in with 2 points apiece.

The Lady Spartans are now 6-1 overall and 6-0 in the OVCC.

Calvary won the JV game against Columbus A&T Academy 46-9.

Madhuri Cook poured in 18, Kari Gantz netted 13, KayLee Hurley, Laileigh Beatty, and Nora Thornton each added 4 points, and Megan Palmer chipped in with 3.

Varsity boys:

In a game from Saturday, Calvary Christian defeated Chess Academy 61-48.

Patrick James recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds, Ezra Davie had 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals, Wyatt Schlatter pitched in 9 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals, Ephraim Daniels added 8 points, Kaden Downey had 6 points and 3 rebounds, Phillip Davie scored 3 points, and Evan Patton contributed with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

The Spartans will host Immaculate Conception tonight.

Middle School:

The Bellefontaine 8th-grade girls lost to London 28-16.

Hailee Lamb paced the Lady Chiefs with 7 points, Emma Whitaker had 6, Presley Vigansky chipped in with 4 and Sophia Jacobs added 1 point.

Grace Brown and Emma Whitaker Bellefontaine in rebounding.

The 8th-grade Lady Chiefs return to action Thursday at Kenton for their last regular season game.

The Bellefontaine 7th-grade boys lost to London 40-22.

Reign St. Clair scored 9 points and Sam Jenkins pitched in 5.

The Benjamin Logan 7th-grade girls lost to Tecumseh 37-20.

Bryleigh Burnside led the Raiders with 5 points.

Benjamin Logan lost in the 8th-grade game 36-28.

Molly Siefring pitched in 13 points with Kylie Harner adding 5 points.

Raiders will be back in tournament action Saturday at 10:00.

The Benjamin Logan 7th-grade boys beat Tecumseh 42-32.

Wyatt Predmore tossed in 14 in the victory while Maddox Vermillion added 10.

The Raider 8th-grade boys lost to Tecumseh 40-39.

Xavier Allen paced the Raiders with 14 points and Alex Hassel chipped in with 12 points.

Benjamin Logan is back in action Thursday at Upper Scioto Valley.

The Riverside 7th-grade girls topped Miami East 23-16.

Kenzie Stotler tallied 9 points in the win. Chloe Purtee had 7, Molly Carman tossed in 3 points, and Clara McGill and Valerie Knight each scored 2 points.

The Riverside 7th-grade girls are now 10-4 (9-3 conference).

In the 8th-grade game, the Lady Pirates lost 31-20.

Kenna Johnson had 6 points in the effort. Emilee Robinson and Madelyn Lemly each scored 4 points, Miah Carmen chipped in with 3 points, Kara Klingler recorded 2 points, and Keira Manahan had 1 point.

Riverside’s 8th-grade girls fall to 11-3 (9-3 conference).

The Urbana 7th-grade boys ran past Northwestern 54-21.

Drew Dixon and Roman Swain each scored 12 points and Case Teepe netted 10 points.

Urbana also won the 8th-grade game 66-27.

Grady Lantz led the Hillclimbers with 14 points and Kaden Underwood had 12 points.
