Bellefontaine Chiefs 12U baseball team opened their season Saturday with a 5-5 tie at Tipp City. The Blaze scored a run in the bottom of the 6th to break a 2-2 tie. Sennett Stolly hit a deep, 2-run double to left-centerfield to put the Chiefs on top 4-3 in the top of 7th. Stolly later came around to score. The Blaze were able to rally for 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game 5-5. Sammy Strayer, Rowen Daring, and Stolly handled the pitching for the Chiefs. They combined to strike out 11 batters. Ean Fultz had two hits including a double. Hudson Banta and Ben Lang both added a hit.
The two teams faced off in another great game on Sunday in Bellefontaine. The back-and-forth game was decided by a game-winning, RBI single off the top of the fence by Ean Fultz in the bottom of the 7th giving the Chiefs an 8-7 victory. Rowen Daring, Hudson Banta, and Dean Buffkin had a pair of hits each. Colson Garver added some fireworks with a deep, 2-run homer in the bottom of the 5th. Sammy Strayer, Fenix Walker, Keaton Dinovo, and Sennett Stolly contributed with a hit. Fultz, Banta, and Daring toed the rubber for the Chiefs, combining for 11 strikeouts.
