In a game broadcast on 98.3 WPKO, Bellefontaine fell to Pontiz 77-42 in the Division II Sectional semi-final Wednesday evening at Springfield High School.
The Chiefs gave Ponitz their best first-quarter punch, but it was not enough to knock out the Golden Panthers. Ponitz would take a 21-13 lead into the second quarter and did not look back.
Leading Bellefontaine was Tavien St. Clair with 13. Keagon Overton-Story had 9, Jacob Salyer and Carter Snapp each added 7, Chris Fogan tossed in 4 and Riley Neer finished with 2 points.
Ponitz was paced by their Wright State commit Dayjuan Anderson with 30. Anderson had 22 at the half.
Bellefontaine finishes the season 11-13.
