The Bellefontaine Chieftains hosted Tecumseh Friday night for a CBC matchup and came away with a hard-fought win, 60-56. The team was led by CJ Butler with 23 points. Jair Mundy scored 15 points and Jacob Salyer added 10 points for the winning Chiefs. The JV Chiefs lost 43-32. Sutton Daring scored 11 points for the Chiefs. In the freshman contest, the Chiefs lost to visiting Tecumseh 43-37. Tiler Monnin scored 12 points to lead the Chiefs. The Chiefs are back in action Monday, December 23, as they travel to West Liberty-Salem.
The Benjamin Logan Raiders hosted Springfield Shawnee and lost 52-27. Maddox Vermillion led the team with 10 points. Peyton Vermillion added 6 points. The JV Raiders defeated Shawnee, 53-27. The team was led by Dylan Tracey with 12 points. Diesel Baughman added 11 points.
Indian Lake defeats Northwestern, 66-52. Avery Pequignot scored 20 points for the Lakers. Brodey Reisinger added 15, and Tyler Tidwell, 13 JV Lakers squeak in a win, 44-41. Skyler Haas led with 8 points.
Riverside Boys Varsity lost at Miami East, 78-47. Jaxon Woods led the Pirates in the loss with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Gavin Orsborne added 10 points, and Brody Orsborne had 8 points, 3 steals, and 3 assists. JV lost 62-36. Grady Jenkins led with 10 points and 5 rebounds, Justin Mazariegos had 9 points and 9 rebounds. David Gross and Camden Shoe each had 7 points. The Riverside freshman team lost, 46-18.
West Liberty-Salem Varsity defeated Triad, 61-18. Taran Logwood led the Tigers with 19 points. Brevin Louden added 17. Caleb Hershberger scored 8, Isaiah Reames and Carson Poppe each added 6, and Troy Christison scored 5.
West Liberty-Salem JVA also won with a 64-25 score. Josiah Johnson and Beckett Sullivan both had 13 points in the win. Tucker Searles checked off 10 points, while Sam Strapp added 9. Asher Cole and Noah Sarver both helped with 6 points. Braden Hershberger had 4 and Garrett Wallen, 2.
West Liberty-Salem JVB defeated Triad, 42-21. Brayan Gullett had 10, Zeke Longshore, 9, Braden Hershberger, 8, Casey Boyer scored 6, Liam Barger added 5, and Zade Bielski ended the night with 4 points. The Tigers are at home against Bellefontaine on Monday, December 23.
