Lady Chiefs Knock Out Jonathan Alder; Boys Get Shut Out

The Bellefontaine Lady Chiefs got the victory over Jonathan Alder Thursday evening.

The game was tight through most of the first half.

The Chiefs get their first goal off of a second-chance play, from the corner kick.

Parker Penhorwood had a nice touch on the cross pass to Callie Shumaker for the 1-0 lead.

This play was set up by a short pass to Olivia Turner, who dropped it back to Penhorwood for the scoring play.

The game went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

Bellefontaine moved around some of their personnel and moved the ball much better in the second half.

Callie Shumaker scored her second goal of the evening off an assist from Quinlan Zedeker.

Zedeker battled it out with the keeper and the ball popped free for the score by Shumaker.

Lexi Robinson played well and was poised in the goal for the Chieftains, as she earned another shutout.

The Chiefs will be back in action at home Monday evening, against North Union

 

The Bellefontaine Boys soccer team was shut out 9-0 by Jonathan Alder Thursday Night in a difficult match.

Alex Crabil was selected Man of the Match and had several crucial tackles on breakaways to prevent more goals from being scored.
